Global Executive | 20+ years of leadership in Business Units, Brands & Government Affairs | Market Access
I’ve had the privilege of leading large Business Units and Global Brands throughout an exciting 20-plus years in health care – spanning Canada, Nordics and the U.S., as well as marketing, market access and government affairs, and sales functions.

My professional journey has been about unlocking the power of science for the benefit of patients, delivering top tier performance, and bringing creative thinking to every new opportunity and challenge in what is an incredibly dynamic health care environment. It’s also about working with great people and embracing the opportunity to grow and stretch myself. I believe in nurturing talent, fostering inclusivity, and creating cultures where innovation thrives.

Over the past decade I’ve had the opportunity to deliver innovative, life-changing medicines and solutions for millions of people affected by the complex spectrum of cardiovascular, renal and metabolism (CVRM) diseases with our strong and expanding portfolio and one of the broadest, deepest, most innovative pipelines in the industry.

    Highlights:
Multi-faceted leadership roles in marketing, sales, market access, and government relations. Active proponent of talent development & champion of inclusive cultures. I am an Engineer at heart, and a strategist in execution.

Here’s to a world where we innovate each day to advance patient care and inclusively grow together

  • Michael Stone
    Michael Stone
Country Manager for Canada, Merz Therapeutics

I am a pharmaceutical and medical device leader. I have held roles in executive leadership in large pharma and general management in small biopharma. I have critically evaluated growth opportunities and have championed break through launches. My therapeutic span is diverse having grown innovative brands in broad primary care through to rare disease with experience in neurology, immunology, hematology, critical care, oncology, osteoporosis, men’s health, psychiatry, chronic pain, women’s health, cardiology and diabetes.
I have developed and guided complex patient support programming across therapeutic areas to deliver exceptional patient and HCP experiences and support early and sustained brand uptake.

As an authentic and inclusive leader, I have built diverse large and small teams that exceed expectations. I have also restructured and transformed teams and culture to succeed in new therapeutic areas.

I am energized by marketing challenges. I was recently inducted in to the Canadian Pharmaceutical Marketing Hall of Fame. My teams have been successful starting with deep understanding of the insights beneath the customer behavior. I do not believe “if you build it, they will come”, I begin with “why”, not “what”.
